KZNFILM aims to enhance the economy by providing and encouraging opportunities for persons, especially from disadvantaged communities to enter and participate in the film industry in the province.
In so doing, it aims to contribute to an enabling environment to job creation. The Industry Skills Development (ISD) Programme under Marketing and Industry Development is designed to develop skills in KwaZulu Natal focusing on previously disadvantaged filmmakers across the value chain of film and television.
About the KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission Production Internship
ISD aims to extend its training and skills development by offering internships to its trainees with long-term productions in the province. KZN Film has engaged with productions in KZN who are prepared to take on interns.
The production companies will provide the work-readiness training that productions are able to do. The internships range from 1 – 12 months based on the needs and requirements of the production
company.
The stipend is R3800,00 per month and no accommodation will be provided. Those who applied before but were not placed on the productions are encouraged to re-apply.
Those who benefited before from the internship programme will not be considered.
Requirements
- Applicants must be residents of the KwaZulu-Natal province and be South African citizens or
- residents.
- Applicants must have a qualification in Film & Television Production or Makeup or Hair or
- Wardrobe or production accounting.
- Preference will be given to those who trained in other KZNFILM programmes before.
- This opportunity is only open to youth until the age of 35 years old.

motivation letter must clearly specify your area of speciality.

About KZNFilm
The KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission was established in accordance with a provincial Act passed in 2010. The KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission is set to begin fulfilling its mandate to make the province a film production centre.
In 2014/2015, the KZNFC developed systems and policies to support and attract national and international role players in the film industry.
