Bursary Overview

The FASSET Unemployed Bursary for the academic year 2024 is now OPEN! Apply now and set yourself up for success!

FASSET is the Sector Education and Training Authority (Seta) for the Finance, Accounting, Management Consulting and Other Financial Services sector.

Its mission is to increase the flow of new finance and accounting services entrants to employment; develop and grow skills required in the sector and facilitate the transformation of the finance and accounting services sector.

FASSET is one of the Setas established in April 2000 in terms of the Skills Development Act (SDA) of 1998

Selection Criteria

  • Learners must be unemployed.
  • A learner must be from a combined household income of R 0 – R 660 000.
  • Learners must be registered/studying at a Public University or University of Technology.

  • Learners must be studying a qualification within the following Faculties/Colleges at the Institutions: Economic Management Sciences, Auditing, Taxation, Accounting Sciences.
  • Learners studying IT related and Actuarial Sciences will also be considered.
  • The capped amount is R 100 000.
  • The bursary covers: Tuition Fees, Textbooks, Accommodation and Learners Allowances/Meal Allowances.

Required Documents

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documents along with your completed application form:

  • ID document (certified copy) (not older than 6 months)
  • Highest Qualification & Academic record (certified copy)
  • Proof of registration and acceptance at an approved tertiary institution (stamped/signed)
  • Parents or guardians ID documents (certified copies)

  • Parents or guardians proof of household income (latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, proof of pension or grant if applicable)
