Bursary Summary

Afrimat Nkomati Anthracite, Mpumalanga, has the following bursaries available: 2024 Undergraduate Bursary Programme.

Closing date: 09 February 2024

Candidates coming from the Mawewe, Matsamo and Lugedlane communities will be given first preference. Upon selection process, potential candidates will be required to provide stamped proof of residence from their respective Tribal Office.

The candidates must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Company standards for medical fitness.

Afrimat is a leading mid-tier mining and materials company. The Group listed on the JSE Main Board in 2006 and is currently listed in the Basic Materials: General Mining sector.

The group supplies a broad range of products ranging from Construction Materials (aggregates, bricks, blocks, pavers and readymix concrete), Industrial Minerals (lime and lime products), and Bulk Commodities (iron ore, anthracite and manganese).

  • BSc Geology
  • BSc Mine Survey
  • Environmental Sciences / Environmental Health
  • Financial Management
  • Supply Chain
  • Human Resource / Industrial Psychology

  • Be in a possession of a valid South African ID.
  • Certified copies of Matric certificate pass with a minimum 65% average marks.
  • The candidate must provide proof of registration received at any of the accredited South African Universities and/or provisional acceptance received at any of the accredited South African Universities.


The bursaries are applicable to candidates intending to register or be registered for the academic year 2024 in one of the stated fields above.

Should the candidate be provisionally selected for this bursary and not meet the required average, they will then forfeit the bursary.

Currently enrolled students for any of the above-mentioned fields of study, must attach certified satisfaction academic record in their last study year (study level) with an average of at least 60%
