Are you a student that is financially excluded, a graduate that is still owing the institution or a first year student? Apply for Portia M Foundation Bursary 2024.

Closing date: Bursary applications are open until 11 February 2024 and all applications should be submitted online.

The bursary programme is open to first year students, senior students and graduates in ANY field of study.

About the Portia M Foundation Bursary

Portia M student bursary funding is back again this year! The bursary helps senior students who are financially excluded by the institution to pay a required % of the outstanding balance of fees for them to register.

It helps students those who completed their qualifications, and still owing the institution to get their qualifications. Portia M student bursary funding also helps first year students with registration fee.

To qualify for the Portia M Bursary you must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a senior student who is financially excluded by the institution to pay a required % percentage of the outstanding balance of fees to register.
  • Must have completed your qualification and still owing the institution to get your qualification
  • Must be a first year students who do not have money for registration fee
  • Must not have any other funding or approved for funding by another provider

Eligibility/ Selection Criteria

Selection criteria:  First year students 

    Certified proof of your results
    A certified copy of your personal identity document
    Letter of admission to a Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma
    The course statement of account of the student

Selection Criteria: Senior students

    Full details of your academic transcript with a minimum of a 65% average
    A certified copy of your personal identity document
    Proof of registration/statement of the student account

Bursary Conditions

Please note that all our Bursaries are dependent on our requirements, we are not always able to consider ALL applications. As this situation differs from year to year, we would advise you to re-apply the following year should your application be unsuccessful for this reason.

Please note that the bursary is not a fully funded bursary. We help you with a kick start for you to be able to register or get your qualification.

Our Bursary does not cover monthly allowance, Book allowance, Accommodation, or any sort of allowance, it is strictly tuition fee bursary fund.

Kindly do not apply if you have any sort any financial assistance, to avoid complications on your student account.

How to Apply

Ensure you attach the following documents and fill up all the necessary information required on the form.

1. Certified copy of your ID
2. ⁠Academic transcript
3. ⁠Acceptance letter/Proof of registration
4. ⁠Student financial statement

Please note:

1.    Incomplete forms will not be accepted
2.    If Portia M Foundation has not responded on the 16 February 2024, consider your applications unsuccessful. Correspondence will be limited to shortlisted applicants only.

3.    Please supply ALL information requested or give good reasons why you cannot provide it. Your application will not be considered if you do not have university exemption.
