Bursary Summary

The Education, Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Training Authority (ETDP SETA) invites applications for the 2024 Bursary.

Who Should Apply?

This bursary opportunity is open to South African citizens only. Students who have completed their National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) and intending to pursue their studies at institutions of higher learning during the 2024 academic year.

Currently accepted or registered students at institutions of higher learning who require funding for the 2024 academic year.

What Qualifications does the ETDP SETA bursary fund?

The ETDP SETA bursary caters for all full qualifications, at

  1. Universities, (Public and Accredited Private Institutions),
  2. Universities of Technology, Public and Private
  3. Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges, in South Africa.

What is the value of the ETDP SETA Bursary?

The ETDP SETA bursary value/allocation is by qualification. Fees will be paid directly to the institution where the student has been registered.

The allocated bursary amount caters for the following:

  • Tuition and accommodation (NB: For students residing at university/college owned accommodation, meal allowance is included as part of the accommodation fees and for students residing at university/college accredited private accommodation, meal allowance will be paid directly to the students)
  • Learning material (Books, stationery, laptop)

How to Apply

Required Documents:

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documents along with your completed application form (downloadable from the bottom of this post):

  • ID document (certified copy – not older than 6 months)
  • Matric certificate (certified copy)
  • Highest qualification, if currently studying
  • Statement of results, if registered with an institution

  • Proof of acceptance and/ or registration from a tertiary institution or proof of registration (on letterhead)
  • Motivational letter stating why you deserve the bursary award (1 page)

Applications must be submitted via email, based on the province in which you reside: (Insert the words “ETDP SETA Bursary 2024” in the email subject line).
