Job Summary

Proudly South African invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for an internship within the eCommerce department for 12 months. Training were applicable may be provided.

About Proudly South African

Proudly South African is the national Buy Local campaign launched in 2001 by government, organised business, organised labour and community organisations (the constituencies represented in the National Economic Development and Labour Council – Nedlac) to boost job creation and national pride by promoting South African companies and their products and services.

Proudly South African seeks to influence local procurement in the public and private sectors, to increase local production and to influence consumers to buy local in order to stimulate job creation.

This is in line with government’s plans to revive South Africa’s economy so that millions of jobs can be created and unemployment can be reduced.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric
  • N6 Certificate – Marketing management.
  • A certificate in IT/eCommerce/Digital Marketing will be advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Adobe Photoshop/Pholography course/skills will be advantageous.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in Online Store Management.
  • Customer and Member Company Service and Support.
  • Liaising with Service Providers and other Stakeholders.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting.
  • Website Optimization and User Experience (UX) Improvement.

  • Market Research and Competitor Analysis.
  • Cross-departmental Collaboration.
  • Support in Digital Marketing Efforts.
  • Support in Content Creation and Management.
  • Ad hoc duties and responsibilities assigned.

Key Competencies

  • WordPress and WooCommerce experience will be advantageous.
  • Ability to operate a Lightbox, Digital Camera, capture and edit product images.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing channels such as social media, marketing emails arid search engine optimization will be advantageous.

  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with good time management skills to adhere deadlines.
  • Ability to liaise with people at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Good facilitation and communication skills,
  • Ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Good time-management skills
