About AEMFC

African Exploration Mining and Finance Corporation (AEMFC) is a state-owned mining company that owns and operates the Vlakfontein Open Cast Coal Mine, located within the Emalahleni Local Municipality, in Mpumalanga, South Africa.

AEMFC is a subsidiary of the Central Energy Fund (CEF) (SOC) Ltd, is dedicated to ensure that South Africa’s pivotal energy and mineral resources are harnessed, delivering both economic and societal advantages for the country and its residents.

About the AEMFC Learnership programme

The following Learnerships will be offered for Internal Learners (18.1 Learners):

  • Boilermaker
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Diesel Mechanic
  • Rock Breaking

Please note that first preference will be given to students residing within the Emalahleni Local Municipality.

The following Learnerships will be offered for External Learners (18.2 Learners):

  • Boilermaker
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Diesel Mechanic

The first preference will be given to students residing within the Emalaheni Local Municipality.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
Minimum Matric with Maths and Physical Science, or N3 or NCV Level 4 with relevant trade subjects.

Boilermaker:
N2 Plater Trade Theory, Plating, Structural Steel Drawing and Maths and Engineering Science.

Electrical Engineering:
N2 Electrical Trade Theory, Industrial Electronics, Maths and Engineering Science.

Diesel Mechanic:
N2 Diesel or Motor Theory, Engineering Drawing and Engineering and Maths Science.

How to Apply

Following Documents Must Be Submitted:

  • Certified Matric Certificate / Grade 12 / N3
  • Certified ID copy.
  • Proof of residential address.
  • Successful pass of Medical-job-fit Assessment.
  • AEMFC learnership will only commence after successful obtaining Fitness Certificate.

Applications must be supported by a motivational letter / application letter, comprehensive curriculum vitae, certified copies of qualifications and a certified copy of identity document.

Applicants MUST indicate the field of Learnership that they are applying for in the subject line in the e-mail.
Applicants MUST not have criminal record.

Applications which do not comply with the abovementioned requirements, as well as those received late, will not be considered.
