Job Summary

POYNTING Antennas in Johannesburg (Samrand) is seeking recent graduates (Chemical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering etc.,) to start a one year graduate program.

The program is designed to provide Engineering graduates with practical, hands-on experience and specialised training in a real-world Radio Frequency (RF) Engineering environment.

The program aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application, preparing participants for successful careers in the RF Engineering field, more specifically in Antenna system design.

Duties & Responsibilities

Technical Training

  • Specialized training in relevant RF Engineering disciplines, including but not limited to RF Engineering for Antenna System Design.
  • Workshops and seminars on industry-specific tools, software, and technologies.
  • Case studies and practical exercises to enhance problem-solving skills.
  • POYNTING Academy course to better understand our products.

Mentorship and Coaching

  • Assigning each participant, a mentor from the engineering team to provide guidance and support.
  • Regular feedback sessions to assess progress and address any challenges.
  • Career development discussions to help participants set and achieve their professional goals.

Administration and Reporting

  • General correspondence and administration completed accurately and timeously.
  • Email, inbox, and data managed timeously and effectively.
  • Professional image maintained in all communication.
  • All reporting and feedback requirements met, and reports completed accurately and timeously, according to company requirements.

  • Drafting, maintaining, and ensuring adherence to departmental processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Supply statistics and information as requested.

On the job training

  • Rotations through different departments to gain exposure to various aspects of the Engineering field.
  • Hands-on experience in real Engineering projects under the guidance of experienced mentors.
  • Integration of theoretical knowledge into practical applications.

Qualifications & Experience

  • No experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree options include a B.Sc. in Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.), B. Tech, and MTech.
  • Submission of academic transcripts and qualification required.
  • Candidates will be shortlisted based on their academic performance and relevant skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities are essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
  • A keen eagerness to learn and a results-driven mindset are expected.

How to Apply

The learnership program will run for a period of 12 months, providing participants with a comprehensive learning experience that includes both theoretical training and on-the-job exposure

All shortlisted candidates will be required to go through an interview process with Human Resources at POYNTING.
