Job Summary

Afrimat Mining (Cape Lime) is recruiting for the Mechanical Engineer Internship opportunity.

Closing date: 28 March 2024

The candidates must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Company standards for medical fitness.

The group supplies a broad range of products ranging from Construction Materials (aggregates, bricks, blocks, pavers and readymix concrete), Industrial Minerals (lime and lime products), and Bulk Commodities (iron ore, anthracite and manganese).

As part of Afrimat’s diversification strategy, we are constantly looking for more opportunities to grow our product offering.


  • B Tech degree or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in mining industry or maintenance working environment will be added advantage
  • Training and development plan include specific areas associated with opencast mining industry and include project management, analysis and maintenance of equipment and the production process of lime products

  • South African citizen
  • Must be able to work within a diverse team as well as under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills both Afrikaans & English
  • Must be available for a period of 24 months
  • Preference will be given to individuals with a driver’s license
