Electrical Technician
The above-mentioned vacancy exists in the Engineering Dept. This position reports to the Electrical Superintendent. Applications from suitably qualified candidates are invited Nampak, Metals Rosslyn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all the latest PLC & HMI Programs are saved in a safe location and are available to all that require it Latest programs saved on all Siemens Programmers.
- Monitor and make sure that no machine is operating with PLC or HMI program changes that are not authorised.
- Conduct daily/weekly/monthly checks.
- To ensure that all electrical machines & installations work optimally to achieve maximum process efficiency.
- Testing electronic equipment i.e. instruments, cards and drives.
- Investigate all Suggestions/recommendations to improve machine availability including replacement/installation of newer technologies.
- Make suggestions towards improvement of the production process or equipment or cost savings.
- Carry out problem identification and apply problem solving techniques.
Electrician
The above-mentioned vacancy exists in the Engineering Dept. This position reports to the Snr Electrical Technician. Applications from suitably qualified candidates are invited
Key responsibilities will include:
- Work day shift and/or continental shifts as per business need
- Work overtime when necessary in relieving the Electrician on the continental shift during their absence based on relief roster or any other business need
- Conduct planned maintenance on production and services equipment.
- Attend to breakdown repairs on production / services equipment.
- Assist with projects and installation work.
- Creation and completion of JDE Work Orders for all electrical work conducted
- Safety and housekeeping.
SHER Officer
Purpose – Manage and monitor the implementation of the Company’s Environment, Health, Safety and Risk policies. To ensure that the Company and its Contractors comply with the requirements of
legislation by monitoring contractor SHER compliance, attend and report at safety meetings and ensure statutory and regulatory compliance by conducting site audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff safety induction training & annual refresher.
- Coordinate internal and external audits as per respective ISO manuals requirements
- Capture all incidents on insight
- Conduct Incident Investigations & compile reports.
- Ensure that legal appointment are up to date
- ISO manuals -develop and implement SHE as per ISO 45000
- Update, sustain and report on SHER compliance to management and provide advice in line with standards and regulations.
- Assess SHER strategies and targets for improvement
- Monthly Safety Statistics report and load on Insight –
- Ensure Legal property documentation for all sites are compliant and retrievable.
- Contractors that are coming on site comply to all construction legal regulations and OSHACT
- Interact with service providers on projects to be carried out on site.
- SLA meeting with suppliers
- Schedule surveys as per frequency”

Fitter & Turner
The above-mentioned vacancy exists in the Engineering Dept. This position reports to the Senior Technician. Applications from suitably qualified candidates are invited Nampak, Metals Rosslyn. This position is graded at a Peromnes 12 level.
Key responsibilities will include:
- ➢ Timeously attend to mechanical breakdowns
- ➢ Make use of problem-solving tools to solve mechanical problems/breakdowns in a STRUCTURED manner.
- ➢ Do maintenance in a LEAN way.
- ➢ Proactively identify and fix potential problems that might stop the lines.
- ➢ The job entails a lot of physical work including lifting.
- ➢ Candidate must be able to deal with different breakdowns simultaneously.
Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner
Purpose – To provide an efficient Occupational Health service.
To assist the employer to manage risks associated with the health and safety of employees. This will be achieved by implementing and providing a professional Occupational Health Service, within a legal and ethical framework, to ensure a healthy and productive workforce.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Maintain an efficient medical surveillance program as per the specific OREP of the plant/s.
- Review of SOP’s where OH knowledge is needed.
- Health Risk Assessments together with OMP.
- Job observations for functional capacity screening together with the OMP.
- Handling and reporting of all claims to the Compensation Commissioner (WCA/RMA).
- GPA reporting and management of all documentation.
- Assisting with TTD/Incapacity Management and administration.
- Injury of duty treatment, management and referral as per the need.
- Management reporting as per the Nampak systems.
- Attend safety committee meeting in an advisory capacity.
- Health promotions.
- Control over all medical and first aid supplies.
- Guidance regarding primary and chronic health care.
- HIV education, counseling, testing and monitoring.
- Employee assistance programs – limited counselling. Refer when needed to ICAS.
- Rehabilitation back to the workplace of employees after long absenteeism.
- Organize Occupational Hygiene surveys and feedback to management/Safety committee the critical areas.
- Work independent within the scope and practice of the SANC.
- Sound communication skills with all stakeholders: Management, labor and outside treating medical professionals.
- General management of the OH clinics, including budgets and purchasing management.
