Tharisa Minerals Mine is situated near the town of Marikana in the North West Province, and is seeking to appoint a qualified candidate to the above-mentioned position based at the mine.
Duties and Responsibilities
Role Context
- Develop professionally/technically and acquire a government certificate of competency (GCC)
- Get a broad-based exposure to Tharisa group operations and mining industry
- Obtain managerial exposure for later deployment as an engineer
- Relieving 2.9.2 foremans /supervisors, GES and an Engineer In their absences
- Participate and report on training progress on monthly basis
- Management of safety, health, and environmental standards (Ensuring compliance & review legislative and engineering standards)
- Co-ordinate minor engineering projects
- Assist the engineers with their day-day work
Requirements
Qualifications
- BSc or B Eng degree in Electrical Engineering – (Heavy Current) / BSc or B Eng degree in Mechanical Engineering / B-Tech degree in Electrical (Heavy Current) / B-Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering
- S courses and diploma complete with relevant practical experience (P1&P2) Electrical trade/ Fitter and Turner or Electro/mechanical trade and a N6 diploma with the relevant subjects above 50% in each Subject
Job specific experience
- Evaluation of subjects for acceptance eligibility by the DMRE
- Letter of acceptance from DMRE that specifies endorsement to the programme by the commissioner of examiners
- MS Office & MS Project
- 2 years similar experience in Process/mining engineering role or as a graduate
- Applicants must be 23 years of age or above
Inherent requirement
- Must be medically fit
