The company’s flagship Modder East gold mine was advanced from a greenfield exploration project through to production and is the only new mine to be built in South Africa’s historically rich East Rand Goldfield in 30 years.
Gold One Modder East Operation is a gold mine situated in Springs in the East Rand, approximately 30kms east of Johannesburg, in the Gauteng Province. We are currently seeking a candidate to employ in the following vacancy: MINER (Grading C2) Reference 1E03-03-24
Job specification
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF4 qualifications
- Valid Blasting Certificate for Metalliferous Mines
- Minirnum 2-3 years’ previous experience in Trackless Mining
- TMM, Conventional Development, Stoping and Hydropower drilling experience
- Mining Production Supervisor Certificate will be advantageous.
- Proficiency in English and any other of 11 official languages
- Computer literacy will be advantageous.
- South African Driver’s License (Code 8-10) essential
- South African Citizenship
- Clear Criminal Record
Responsibilities
Provide support and best practices withing Mining Section (s) • Ensuring that all blasting activities within the designated area of responsibility are efficiently executed and controlled to promote effective production goals and reaching set targets.
Ability to plan, supervise and control subordinates on both stoping and development ends. • Ensure equipment and material availability in the area of responsibility in order to optimize production.
Adhere to MHSA standards 8, Gold1’s safety motto “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely.
