Job Purpose
Investec Property Risk team are looking for highly motivated final year and postgraduate students with a passion for property, to complete a one-month internship programme in July.

Qualifications Required
A property intern should be dynamic, energetic and filled with tenacity, integrity and out of the ordinary thinking.
Candidates should be completing a degree in Property Studies or related property fields such Quantity Surveying, Construction Management and Engineering.
Successful candidates will get practical, on-the-job experience that is relevant to the property sector giving them a head-start in the industry. Candidates are expected to be involved in the greater team’s day-to-day activities and responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Description of the skill and experience required
- Keeping abreast of current market conditions (Building rates) across the various types of property
- Analysing and assessing new developments feasibilities and the viability of those proposed developments (This includes but is not limited to collecting market research for our stakeholders)
- The compilation of the national development bond summary prior to run through
- Attending development bond monthly meetings in order to extract the key risks within our development book
- The compilation of the national development bond summary prior to run through

- Assist in compiling valuation reports
- Assist with a development bond summary audit
- Co-approval of pre-sale and pre-let audits in various types of developments being financed by Investec
- Assist with town planning related consents
- Development of strong relations with key stakeholders (Consultants, Credit Risk, Legal Risk, External Valuers / QS’s, and 3rd Parties)
- Participation in various Forums:
- Property Forum (Analysis and critique of potential transactions)
- Recoveries Forum
- Regional Credit Forums
