Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include (but not limited to the following):
- Adhere to the group’s health and safety rules
- Understand and comply to the group’s health and safety standards
- Keep the laboratory and storage area clean and safe
- Assist supervisor in chairing safety toolbox meetings
- Housekeeping/inspections reports
- Participate in all health and safety campaigns
- Conduct VFL’s
- SANAS technical signatory for cement tests
- Assist with clearing of audit findings and improvement of ISIC Quality Management System
- Coordinating and planning of all assigned products
- Ensures that all products meet the demands as set by ISI Manager, Commercial department and Industrial department
- Ensures that products are completed on time with all objectives achieved
- Tracks the performance of cement products from all sites and issues an update ISI Manager on a monthly basis
- Liaises with the operations to ensure correction action are implemented and properly documented
- Ensures standardization of the compliance evaluation at all cement operations
- Responsible for cement formulation of the new products
- Laboratory validation of new product development before industrial verification is conducted by plant trials
- Initial launch industrial support and continuous performance monitoring
- Be part of the post launch evaluation of the product development process
- Evaluates cement performance and suggests opportunities for optimization in terms of materials and production process
- Conducts laboratory evaluation on new systems and/or additives and make recommendations to the plant team
- Assists the plant team with the implementation of the recommendations
- Organizes regular quality workshops for information sharing and training on specific topics at least three times per year
- Conducts onboarding training for new employees on cement process and product knowledge.
- Liaises/visit with internal and external customers where necessary
- Ensure that Auto control /customer certificate are distributed to sales personnel monthly.
- Conduct clinker reactivity analysis monthly to evaluate if products are still produced with quality raw material.
- Responsible for technical report writing
- Performs any other reasonable tasks when requested by the N+1
Minimum Experience & Key Requirements:
- National Diploma, BEng Tech and Advance Diploma in Chemical Engineering or higher
- Driver’s license code B
