Internship Overview
During this internship, you will be an integral part of the Civicus team, contributing to meaningful projects that align with our mission. You will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals who are deeply committed to empowering civil society. Key Responsibilities:
- Research and Analysis:
- Conduct research on trends, challenges, and developments in civil society and human rights.
- Assist in analyzing data and compiling reports that reflect key findings.
- Support the development of briefing materials on relevant issues for our internal and external stakeholders.
- Communication and Outreach:
- Contribute to the creation of engaging content for our social media platforms, website, and newsletters.
- Help draft press releases and communications related to our initiatives and campaigns.
- Assist in organizing online and offline events, including webinars, workshops, and conferences.
- Administrative Support:
- Provide general administrative assistance to the team, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and maintaining project files.
- Help coordinate logistics for events, both virtual and in-person.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth operations within the organization.
- Learning and Development:
- Participate in professional development opportunities, including training sessions and workshops.
- Engage with staff on various projects to gain a comprehensive understanding of Civicus’s work.
- Network with other interns, staff, and external partners to build valuable connections in the sector.
Who We’re Looking For
We are eager to find candidates who possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Educational Background: Currently pursuing, or have recently completed, a degree in social sciences, international relations, human rights, political science, or a related field.
- Passion for Civil Society: A genuine interest in civil society issues, social justice, and human rights.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Research Skills: Competence in conducting research, analyzing data, and compiling reports, with attention to detail.
- Team Player: A collaborative spirit, ability to work independently, and a willingness to contribute to team goals.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with social media platforms.
- Multilingual Skills (optional): Proficiency in additional languages is a plus, as we work in various global contexts.
