Role Overview:
As a Communication Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing UNDP’s visibility and promoting its mission both within India and on a global stage. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining communication strategies that effectively convey the organization’s messages to diverse audiences. Your work will help to inform, educate, and engage stakeholders in UNDP’s initiatives to create a lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Communication Strategies:
- Design and implement comprehensive communication plans aligned with UNDP’s objectives and strategic priorities.
- Identify target audiences and tailor messages to meet their needs, employing a range of communication tools and platforms, including social media, print, and digital media.
- Content Creation and Management:
- Produce high-quality written content, including articles, press releases, newsletters, and social media posts that effectively communicate UNDP projects and achievements.
- Oversee the production of multimedia content such as videos, infographics, and podcasts to enhance storytelling and reach wider audiences.
- Media Relations:
- Cultivate relationships with journalists and media organizations to promote UNDP’s work and ensure accurate representation in the media.
- Organize press conferences, media briefings, and events to showcase UNDP initiatives and amplify key messages.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to identify key communication needs and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
- Develop partnerships with other organizations, government agencies, and civil society to enhance the visibility of UNDP’s initiatives.
- Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Track and analyze the effectiveness of communication efforts through metrics and feedback, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare reports on communication activities and their impact on UNDP’s goals and objectives.
- Crisis Communication:
- Support the implementation of crisis communication strategies, ensuring timely and accurate communication during challenging situations.
Qualifications:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Social Sciences, or a related field. A master’s degree is an advantage.
- Experience:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, or journalism, preferably within the development sector.
- Proven experience in content creation, digital media, and stakeholder engagement.
- Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to translate complex information into accessible messages.
- Proficient in the use of digital communication tools and platforms, including social media, web content management systems, and graphic design software.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
