The Role
As a Digital and Community Engagement Specialist with UNCTAD, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance our digital footprint and foster engagement with diverse communities. Key Responsibilities
- Content Development
You will be expected to produce high-quality, engaging content that aligns with UNCTAD’s mission and resonates with our target audiences. This includes articles, blog posts, social media updates, video scripts, and newsletters. Your creative flair will be instrumental in translating complex topics into accessible and impactful messages. - Social Media Engagement
Establish and maintain a robust presence across various social media platforms. You will be tasked with crafting engaging posts, managing interactions, and analyzing metrics to understand audience behavior better. Building a vibrant online community is a crucial part of the role. - Community Building
Engage with stakeholders, including NGOs, policymakers, academic institutions, and community leaders, to create a network of advocates and supporters for UNCTAD’s work. You’ll develop outreach initiatives to encourage dialogue and collaboration, fostering a sense of community among diverse audiences. - Digital Campaigns and Events
Collaborate with relevant teams to plan and execute digital campaigns, webinars, and virtual events. These initiatives will aim to disseminate UNCTAD’s research and promote discussions on global trade, investment, and development. - Monitoring and Analytics
Utilize digital analytics tools to assess the effectiveness of engagement strategies. Analyze performance metrics and derive insights that will inform future campaigns, ensuring goal alignment and optimization of outreach efforts. - Trend Analysis
Stay up-to-date with digital marketing trends and community engagement best practices. Adapt strategies based on industry developments to ensure UNCTAD remains at the forefront of digital engagement.
Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following:
- Educational Background: A degree in communications, marketing, social sciences, international relations, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in digital marketing, community engagement, or a similar role is essential. Familiarity with international development issues, particularly in trade and economics, is a plus.
- Digital Proficiency: Proficiency in social media platforms, content management systems, and analytical tools. Familiarity with graphic design tools and video editing software is advantageous.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to convey complex information in an engaging and understandable manner.
- Project Management: Strong organizational skills and a knack for managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
