Key Responsibilities
As the Lead for Strategic Communications, you will:
- Develop and Implement Communication Strategies: Create comprehensive communication plans that align with WFA’s mission, goals, and objectives. This includes formulating strategies for public relations, community engagement, and media outreach.
- Content Creation and Management: Produce and oversee the creation of compelling content across various platforms, including websites, social media, and newsletters. Your writing will resonate with a diverse audience, inspiring support for our initiatives.
- Media Relations: Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and influencers who can help amplify WFA’s voice. Monitor media coverage, compile reports, and evaluate the effectiveness of media outreach efforts.
- Campaign Development: Collaborate with program teams to design campaigns that raise awareness about women’s rights issues, highlight success stories, and mobilize support from the public.
- Capacity Building: Provide training and resources for WFA team members and partner organizations on effective communication strategies and best practices.

Who You Are
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Relevant Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, or a related field, preferably within the context of social justice or gender advocacy.
- Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills: Exceptional writing skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively. Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in additional languages is an asset.
- Expertise in Digital and Social Media: A proven track record of using digital platforms to engage audiences, drive campaigns, and boost organizational profiles.
